Lady Pioneers overpowered by Lady Blackhawks

GENTRY -- The Lady Pioneers dropped to 0-3 for the season after a trip to Pea Ridge on Thursday and a 3-0 loss to the Lady Blackhawks.

The Gentry girls were soundly defeated in the first set, 25-9, and made a stronger showing in the second round of play, getting 16 points on the board before the Lady Blackhawks hit the 25 mark.

Then, in the third set, the Lady Pioneers managed only seven points before the Lady Blackhawks finished them off and took the set, 25-7, and the match, 3-0.

Gentry was scheduled to host the Gravette Lady Lions, also 0-3 for the season, on Tuesday (after press time).
