Dean L. Amos

Dean L. Amos, 93, of Decatur, died Sept. 5, 2018, at Apple Creek Health and Rehab, in Centerton.

He was born Feb. 1, 1925, in Decatur to Lester Amos and Mabel Chambers Amos. He was a lifelong resident of Decatur and married Sylvia Hutton Dill on July 22, 1995. He was a cattle rancher and was active on the farm until he was 91.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son; his first wife, Betty Foster; his second wife, Pat Bilbe; and grandson Brian.

Survivors include his wife Sylvia of the home; sons Harvey Amos and wife Nancy of Sulphur Springs, Lester Amos and wife Cheryl of Decatur, Clark Amos of Decatur, Jerald Amos and wife Connie of Colcord, Okla., and Merrill Amos of Colcord; daughters, Marilyn Gosnell and husband Don of Tulsa, Okla., and Carolyn Mercer and husband Ray of Bentonville; 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services were Sept. 10 at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs. Burial followed at Falling Springs Cemetery, Decatur. Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.

Evaleta Dearing Tobie, 98, of Siloam Springs, died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2018, at Willard Walker Hospice House in Fayetteville.

She was born July 28, 1920, in Farmington, to Rosa Jane Nantz and Charley Leroy Lee.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Stephen Earl Dearing and Oliver Tobie; four brothers and three sisters, Dennie, Lloyd, Bryce, Bertie, Rita, Meda and Merle Lee; four sons, Charles Wayman Dearing, Vencil Ray Dearing, Earl Eugene Dearing and William Lee Dearing.

She is survived by one son, Benny Dale Dearing and his wife Kathy of Everton; one daughter, Jane Gayer and her husband Rance of Fayetteville; 18 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

Graveside service was Sept. 8 at Prairie Grove Cemetery, with arrangements by Epting Funeral Home, Fayetteville.
