GENTRY -- After coming off a 3-0 win on Sept. 12 when Class 2A Decatur visited for a volleyball match, the Lady Pioneers dropped Thursday's conference match against the Lady Tigers of Prairie Grove in three straight sets.

Though the Gentry girls remained close early in the sets, by midway, things began to come apart and Prairie Grove pulled away for the wins. Only the third set was close. Scores were 25-13, 25-11 and 25-21.

The Lady Pioneers also fell to the Lady Cardinals at Farmington on Sept. 11 in three straight sets. Scores were 25-7, 25-13 and 25-9 in favor of Farmington.

On Sept. 12, the Lady Pioneers were able to pick up a nonconference win over neighboring Decatur. Set scores were 25-14, 25-20 and 25-17.

After last week's play, the Gentry girls were 1-8 overall and 0-6 in conference play.

They were scheduled to travel to Huntsville on Tuesday (after press time) to take on the Lady Eagles in a conference match.
