Gentry graduation to be held Friday evening

Attendance will be restricted due to covid-19 concerns

GENTRY -- Graduation will be held in Gentry on Friday, July 10, according to information released by the school district last month.

According to an email notification sent to parents and staff members by Brae Harper, principal of Gentry High School, the plans submitted by the school district to the Arkansas Division of Elementary and Secondary Education were approved.

"We are excited to announce that graduation will be able to go as planned, in Pioneer Stadium, on Friday, July 10, 2020, Harper stated in the notice. "We have moved the time to 7:30 p.m. to provide some relief from the July heat," he added.

"As directed by current State guidelines, we are able to offer each graduate six tickets per family to attend the ceremony," Harper said.

Facemasks and social distancing are a part of the plan for Friday night.

A backup date of Saturday, July 11, was set in the event of inclement weather on the evening of July 10.
