Senior Center Report

— We would like to thank Delta Trust & Bank for sponsoring the Annual Community Golf Tournament this year and all of the participants and volunteers who helped with it.

In recognition of National Senior Center Month, which is in September, the Center will be having a different guest speaker each Wednesday at 11 a.m. Representative Mary Lou Slinkard will be the first speaker of the month on Wednesday, September 2. Future speakers during the month will be Janet Fuller with CareNetwork Sept. 9, Gravette Mayor Bill Howard Sept. 16, Dan Yates, Attorney at Law, Sept. 23 and Superintendent of Gravette Schools Dr. Andrea Kelly Sept. 30. Everyone is invited to attend.

The Senior Center offers limited transportation service to Seniors 60 years or older within the city limits who are interested in coming to the Center for exercise or lunch on a daily basis. They may also call the Center on Thursday to sign up for shopping services Friday morning in Gravette. Meals and transportation are not free but low cost. All donations are very important in order to continue this valuable service.

Week of Aug. 31 - Sept. 4 Lunch

Monday: Salmon loaf, creamed peas, steamed cabbage, wheat bread, chocolate pudding.

Tuesday: Country fried steak, mashed potatoes w/ gravy, peas & carrots, dinner, roll, chocolate brownie.

Wednesday: Pulled pork au jus, new potatoes, green beans, dinner roll, pineapple cherry crisp.

Thursday: Turkey w/gravy, cornbread dressing, garden mix vegetables, dinner roll, poke cake.

Friday: Pizza, Italian vegetables, tossed salad w/dressing, mandarin oranges.
