Baptist Church Community Dinner Is This Sunday

— First Baptist Church in Gravette announces they will hold a Community Christmas Dinner Sunday, December 20, at the church located on Highway 72 west, 305 Main S.W., in Gravette.

This is the third year thechurch has sponsored the Christmas meal, which is open and open to all the community.

Serving will begin at 6 p.m. in the church fellowship hall.

The Gravette Junior and Senior High Choral Christmas concert will be held this Thursday evening, December 17, at the GHS performing arts center.

The annual program, which is open to the public without charge, will include a program of favorites such as “Carol of the Bells”, “Silent Night”, “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” and “Deck the Halls”.

There are about 130 singers in the junior high choral group and 75 in high school, said Rachel Galloway, Choral Director, who also does her own recordings of accompaniment for the performances.

“The choirs are broken into several groups including Junior High Beginners, Junior High Select, High School Beginners, HighSchool Women’s and High School Select,” Mrs. Galloway said. Each will perform during the evening.

“The audience will be invited to sing along for a verse or two for two different songs,” she added.

As mentioned, there is no admission “but possibly a bake sale will be held which will benefit the junior high choral program,” it was noted.

Christmas Eve

Service Announced

A Christmas Eve candlelight service will be held December 24 at 6 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Gravette.

This is a tradition at the church which extends an invitation to everyone in the community and area to attend the servicewhich will include singing, scripture readings and Holy Communion which is open to everyone.

The service will conclude with congregational candlelight to commemorate the holy Christmas season.
