Christmas lighting contest start soon

— All Gentry businesses, schools and government offices are being invited to participate in this year’s Christmas lighting contest. The Gentry Chamber of Commerce will present $100 to the best decorated business. Judging will take place Dec. 12. Business owners wishing to make sure their business is included in the contest are being asked to call the Chamber office and let the Chamber know when decorations are up so no one is missed in the judging. Jech enlists in GuardFrom Staff Reports

COLCORD, Okla. - Private Kelcey Jech of Colcord, Okla., recently enlisted in the Arkansas Army National Guard.

Jech has earned education benefits, including federal tuition assistance and the Montgomery G.I. Bill, valued at $49,844.

After graduating from Gentry High School, she will attend basic training, with further instruction at Ft. Sam Houston, Texas, as a healthcare specialist. Upon completion of training, Jech will serve with Charlie Company 39th Brigade Support Battalion in Lonoke.

Jech is the daughter of Charles Jech of Gentry and Karla Jech of Colcord.
