PSAT Test Will Be Administered At GHS October 14

— Juniors at Gravette High School will have the opportunity to take the PSAT test Wednesday, October 14, according to Shannon Mitchell, counselor at GHS.

The test will be administered that Wednesday at 8 a.m. "Sophomores will also be allowed to take the test, for practice," Mitchell added.

The PSAT measures the student's verbal reasoning, critical reading, math problem solving and writing skills, Mitchell explained.

For parents, she added, "Itis probably better known as the Preliminary SAT and can be used as an indicator of how your student will perform on the SAT."

The PSAT is also the National Merit Scholarship qualifier test for juniors. Erica Leeman, 2009 Gravette graduate, was recipient of a National Merit Scholarship, Mitchell said.

The fee for taking the test is $13. Seating is limited to the first 30 students who register and pay the fee.
