GENTRY — GENTRY - Kelsea Whitten finished as the fifth-place medalist at the Valley View Country Club last week and will play in the state finals next week at Eagle Mountain in Batesville.
This is the third year in a row Whitten qualified for state competition, according to Gentry coach Conlan Efurd.
Jessica Jech ended the season as a solid high school carrier Friday at regional competition.
"She has really improved her game over the last few years and has been a great asset to the team," said Efurd.
Michaela Milam finished just five strokes away from making it to state.
"She was a little frustrated knowing she had made a low enough score which would have allowed her to go to State just a couple weeks ago," Efurd said.
"This was a good year for her to gain experience. I expect big advances out of the freshman the next three years," he said.
Boys regional play was scheduled for this week.
