Howard and Cathleen Spears, Novella Carlton and I attended an election training class in Bentonville on Saturday morning.

The Hiwasse Dairy Freeze suffered minor damage in a fire on Friday but it was soon able to reopen for business.

Those having lunch with me on Sunday were Mr. and Mrs.Ward Carrier, DaleLynn and Lamarise Carrier.

Bro. Julian Reynolds from the Southern Christian Home in Morrilton, AR, was guest speaker at the Hiwasse Church of Christ on Sunday. He was accompanied by his wife Midge.

W. T. and Connie Rail from Tupelo, MS, havespent a few days this week visiting relatives here. On Friday they visited with Ruby Hight.

Mr. and Mrs. Larry Holloway have been on vacation this week, visiting Mary’s sister in Nebraska.

On Tuesday Karen Burns had lunch with her friends Bonnie and Vickie. Dr. Evans’ crew was also there celebrating a birthday. Later Karen visited with Barbara Bates, then picked up her friend Brenda Greene for a walk around the Highlands Walking Trail.

Karen also said she had her first of the season produce out of her garden - a mess of asparagus.

April 21, 1987, record high temperatures were set in 29 cities from the Gulf of Mexico to New England. The 93° recorded at New Orleans and 82° at Caribou, Maine, were records for the month.
