Junior high wins conference meet

— The Gentry Junior High boys finished a great year this season, pulling off an unexpected win in the conference track meet. The Pioneers outscored the favored Prairie Grove Tigers 162 to 154 for a conference championship.

Individual scores are as follows:

◊Colby Bryant, 35.5 points and meet highpoint individual. He took first in the 1600-meter run, first in the 800-meter run, first in the 1600-meter relay, fourth in the 400 dash, third in triple jump, and fifth in the long jump.

◊Kevin Parish, 28.5 points. He took first in the 400 dash, first in the 1600 relay, third in the 200 dash, third in the 100dash, and third in high jump.

◊Clay Norman, 22 points. He took first in the 3200 relay, first in the 1600 relay, second in the 300 hurdles, third in the shot put, and fifth in the 110 hurdles.

◊Elijah Ramsey, 17.5 points. He took first in the 3200 relay, second in the pole vault, sixth in the 800 run, sixth in the high jump, and eighth in the triple jump

◊Jerred Cousins, 18 points. He scored first in the pole vault, fifth in the discus, and fifth in the shot put.

◊Alex Hunt, 10 points. He scored third in the discus and fifth in the shot.

◊Holden Florer, 8.5 points. He scored first in the 3200 relay and third in pole vault.

◊Jerry Hoover, 7.5 points. He scored first inthe 3200 relay and fourth in the pole vault.

◊Cody Brown, 3 points. He scored seventh in the 110 hurdles and eighth in the 300 hurdles.

◊Dustin Stoufflet, 2.5 points. He scored first in the 1600 relay.

◊Markus Page, 2 points, He scored seventh in the triple Jump.

◊Alec Nelson, 1 point. He scored seventh in the 110 hurdles.

The Gentry girls came in sixth overall, with 59 points. Destiny Thomas took second in the 1600-meter run. Jacelyn Hundley took second in the shot put and fourth in the discus. Sofiya Stasiv took second in the 300-meter hurdles. The team of Kristen Flesner, Brooklyn Williamson, Stasiv and Thomas took second in the 4x800-meter relay.
