William Fred Doughty

William Fred Doughty, 94, of Colcord, Okla., died Nov. 23, 2010, at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital, Siloam Springs.

He was born Oct. 2, 1916, in Marysville, Texas, to William Allen Doughty and Ola Shepherd Doughty. He was a dairy farmer until 1974 when he began raising beef cattle. He married Hazel Powell in El Reno, Okla., on Dec. 28, 1940.

Fred was preceded in death by one son, Jack Doughty.

Survivors include his wife Hazel of the home; one son, Ronald Doughty and wife Wanda of Hollister, Mo.; two daughters, Charlene Archibald and husband Gerry of Bella Vista, and Donna Hignite and husband Billy of Colcord; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four sisters, Melba Kavanah of Gooding, Idaho, Geneva Ramsey of Lawndale, Calif., Olive Smith of Lexington, N.C., and Elise Turner of Chinacum, Wash.

Funeral services were Nov. 27, at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs.

Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.

Bessie Lou Guinn

Bessie Lou Guinn, 66, of Colcord, Okla., died Nov. 20, 2010, at WashingtonRegional Medical Center, Fayetteville.

She was born Aug.16, 1944, in Claremore, Okla., to Lloyd C. January and Minnie Guess January. She was a lifelong resident of Colcord and had worked for the Cherokee Nation for 28 years. She was a member of the Colcord Church of Christ.

Survivors include one son, Bradley Ellis of Colcord; one daughter, Kim Nichols of Gentry; two grandchildren; two greatgrandchildren; her mother, Minnie January of Jay, Okla.; two sisters, Kathy Owens of Lowell, and Bonnie Amos of Tecumseh, Okla.; and one brother, Lloyd January of Pryor, Okla.

Funeral services were Nov. 27 at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, with Larry Ellis officiating. Burial followed at Row Cemetery, Colcord.

Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.

Alma Jessie Lea Ora Gwendolyn Hill

Alma Jessie Lea Ora Gwendolyn Hill, 88, of Maysville, died Nov. 26, 2010, at home.

She was born July 27, 1922, in Eucha, Okla., to James Alexander and Flossie Gracetta O'Banion Roberts. She married Johnny Fred Hill on April 5, 1941, in Jay, Okla. She was affiliated withthe Baptist church and was a longtime member of the local E.H. club. She was also an active member of the rodeo club and loved working in her community as long as her health permitted her to do so.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 53 years, Johnny Hill.

Survivors include one son, Johnny Warren Hill and wife Etta of Maysville; one daughter, Gwen Singleton and husband Gary of Maysville; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Nov. 30, 2010, at Maysville Bible Church, Maysville, with Raymond Scott and Bill Query officiating. Burial followed at Maysville Cemetery, Maysville.

Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.

Calvin “Junior” Robinson

Calvin “Junior” Robinson, 55, of Colcord, Okla., died Nov. 27, 2010, at his home.

He was born Dec. 18, 1954, in Siloam Springs to Ray Robinson and Angale Phipps. He married Reba LeRoy on Sept. 15, 1973, in Delaware County, Okla. Heworked as a farmer and was a manager for Watts Feed Mill.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Richard Robinson; one brother, Charles Robinson; and his stepfather, Johnny Hudson

Survivors include his wife, Reba; two daughters, Charity Woods of Colcord, Amy Beebe and husband Brent of Rogers; two sons, Jeremiah Robinson and wife Ashley of Colcord, Adam Robinson of Gravette; five grandchildren; one brother, Bobby Robinson and wife Dorothy of Colcord; and one sister, Rovita Gifford and husband Don of Westville, Okla.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 1, at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs. Burial will follow at Allen Cemetery, Moseley, Okla.

Arrangements are by Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.

Bobby Dale Pope

Bobby Dale Pope, 75, of Mountainburg, died Nov. 22, 2010, in Van Buren.

He was a retired Service Station Operator for A&W Oil Company and a member of the 88 Freewill Baptist Church.

He was preceded in deathby a daughter, Rita Thompson, and a son, Ricky Pope.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Pope of the home; two daughters, Brandi Pope, Cherolyn Gregory and husband Lee, all of Mountainburg; two sons, Johnny Pope and Sara of Mountainburg, Bobby Pope and wife Paula of Dyer; two sisters, Sharon Russow and husband, Dale of Decatur, and Shirley Bauer of Fullerton, Calif.; and five grandchildren.

Funeral service was Nov. 26, 2010, at Pigeon Creek Freewill Baptist Church in Mountainburg, with burial at Conley Cemetery in Mountainburg.

Arrangements were by Ocker Funeral Home, Van Buren.

Phyllis Ryan

Phyllis Darlene Ryan, 80, of Gravette, died Nov. 25, 2010, at Circle of Life Hospice House in Bentonville.

She was born Sept. 27, 1930, to Lon and Mable Lakey.

She has taken care of many children over the years, especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved her family. She enjoyed watching TV, especially cooking shows.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and several siblings.

Survivors include one son, James Ryan, Jr., of Gravette; two daughters, Debra Arnold and husband Billy of Noel, Mo., and Sue Nowark and husband Tim of Ohio; one sister, Betty Frye, of Oklahoma; seven grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

No services are planned at this time. Cremation arrangements were by Epting Funeral Home in Bella Vista.

Survivors include one son, Bradley Ellis of Colcord, Oklahoma; one daughter, Kim Nichols of Gentry, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Melissa Pickering and Jason Nichols, both of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; great grandchildren, Zane and Kadee Pickering of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; her mother, Minnie January of Jay, Oklahoma; two sisters, Kathy Owens of Lowell, Arkansas and Bonnie Amos of Tecumseh, Oklahoma; and one brother, Lloyd January of Pryor, Oklahoma.

Pallbearers were Michael Ellis, Will Farris, Grant Goucher, Kyle Nichols, Darrell Norvell, and Barry Owens.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 27, 2010, at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, Arkansas, with Pastor Larry Ellis offi ciating.

Burial followed at Row Cemetery, Colcord, Oklahoma.
