Nina Murphree

Nona Mae (Barnes) Murphree, 88, of Tulsa, died February 10, 2010, at Clarehouse in Tulsa. She was born April 8, 1921, in Gravette, the daughter of T. N. and Leota Myrtle Hopkins Barnes.

She was a machinist for ten years and later was an Avon salesperson. She married Joseph Murphree July 7, 1961, in Tulsa. He preceded her in death. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Sanders, in December 2008.

Survivors include three daughters, Sharon Warrington of Sapulpa, OK, Patricia Monroe of Keifer, OK, and Rhonda Edwards of Tulsa; stepdaughters Reba Hettwer of Broken Arrow and Judy Hemphill of Tulsa; one brother, Clifford Barnes of Gravette; one sister, Barbara McGarrah of Grove, OK; 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 5 great-greatgrandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 16, at Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel in Tulsa. Arrangements were by Ninde Funeral Directors.

Mary McConnell

Mary Ellen McConnell, 65, of Sulphur Springs, died Wednesday, February 10, 2010, at her home. She was born March 3, 1944, in Danville, IL, the daughter of Howard and Martha Jones Hall.

She was a homemaker and a member of Tired Iron of the Ozarks.

Survivors include her husband, Louis; three sons, Garth Freeland of Southwest City, MO, Perry Freeland of Sulphur Springs and Stan Yarbrough and wife Stacey of Carl Junction, MO; two daughters, Barbara England and husband Charles of Lincoln and Tammy Romero of Gentry; one sister, 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was held Tuesday, February 16, at Wasson Memorial Chapel in Siloam Springs with burial at Decatur Cemetery.
