CBCO to hold blood drives

— Gentry - Community Blood Center of the Ozarks will hold blood drives at the following locations next week:

From 5 to 9 p.m., Monday, Aug. 2, at Church Of God in Christ Mennonite, 10770 N. Bloomfield Road, Gentry;

From 3 to 6 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 5, at the Village Market and Grille, 14939 W. Highway 12, Highfill.

Eligibility requirements include weighing at least 110 pounds, being in general good health and presenting the required identification.

CBCO has issued a code yellow alert for type Apositive, B-positive and O-positive blood. There is less than a two day supply of this blood on hospital shelves. Donations are needed to help replenish the supply.

It takes over 275 donations every day to meet the needs of the thirty-seven area hospitals that use CBCO products, a CBCO press release states. A single blood donation can save the lives of up to three people.
