McKee Foods recognized for its work-life balance

— McKee Foods was a winner of the Governor’s Work-Life Balance Award and was recognized at a luncheon at the Peabody Hotel in Little Rock.

Seventeen Arkansas employers received awards in the eighth annual ceremony, formerly named the Governor’s Family-Friendly Awards.

McKee Foods Corporation in Gentry received the Spotlight Award. Governor Mike Beebe presented the award.

“We’re honored to receive the Governor’s Work-Life Balance Spotlight Award,” said Tim Broughton, vice president of McKee Foods Gentry Operations, “and we dedicate it to all of our employees who have made us not only America’s number-one snack cake, but also a preferred employer in northwest Arkansas.They are the reason for our success. McKee Foods recognizes the value and contribution of each individual and demonstrates concern for the health, safety and well-being of employees and their families.”

The Work-Life Initiative also announced the Spotlight Award winners, honoring organizations that provided exemplary strategies that support a healthy work-life balance.

Spotlight Award Winners included McKee FoodsCorporation in Gentry.

Companies that were nominated for the awards were asked to provide information regarding issues such as health benefits, work-time options andchildcare assistance. If a company did not have formal work-life policies, informal ways of making the work environment as family-friendly as possible were taken into account.
