LITTLE ROCK — The Gravette High School Golf Teams finished a successful season with a new coach, Ken Johnson. The teams played seven tournaments before going to district.
The Lady Lions started out with a bang, winning their first tournament, finishing second in five and third in one before dropping to fifth in thedistrict tournament.
The boys team finished from second to fourth in all their tournaments but placed seventh in district.
Johnson said, “I’ve had a passion for golf since being a teenager,” and added he played golf in high school and college.
He has been coaching golf for many years but this is his first year to do it in Gravette.
“I loved having a fullteam for boys and girls. I have had a lot of fun this year. The highlightwas the girls winning the Scottsdale tournament,” he said.
