J. Lee Hendrix

J. Lee Hendrix, 91, of Siloam Springs, died Nov. 2, 2010, at his home, surrounded by his daughters and caregivers.

Born Feb. 11, 1919, in Anna, Texas, he was the son of James Marvin Hendrix and Dilla Cawthon Hendrix. He and Margaret Holland were married on Nov. 11, 1939, in Highfill. He was a charter member of Harvard Avenue Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He drove a truck for Lion Oil Company, managed Delbert Allen Grocery Stores, worked for Wayne Allen Lumber Company and managed Lyle Marsh Racing Tires.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one daughter, Treva Evans; and one infant son, David Lee Hendrix.

Survivors include three daughters, Gayle Barker of Skiatook, Okla., Glenda Denny of Rogers, Dixie Paulsen and husband, David, of Aledo, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, James Hendrix of Highfill.

Funeral services were Nov. 6 at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs,with Dennis Cottrell and Dan Crenshaw officiating. Burial was at Douglas Cemetery in Highfill.

Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.

Kelly Louis Moore

Kelly Louis Moore, 47, of Siloam Springs, died at his home on Nov. 3, 2010.

He was born Jan. 12, 1963, in Robbinsdale, Minn., to June Faye Palmore and James Simpson Moore. He graduated from McDonald County High School in 1981 and earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Arkansas.

Survivors include his mother, Faye Palmore of Decatur; five brothers, including Terry Moore of Sulphur Springs, Jimmy Moore of Decatur, and Billy Jon Moore and wife Meryle, and Foy Lin Palmore, all of Siloam Springs; and three sisters.

There are no services planned at this time.

Cremation arrangements were by Epting Funeral Home in Bentonville.

Logan Marshall Norris

Logan Marshall Norris, 19, of Gentry, died Nov. 4, 2010, at Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa, Okla.

He was born Feb. 11, 1991, in New London, Conn., to Clayton and Mechele Creasey Norris. He was a student, served one year in the Army National Guard and worked as a barista.

Survivors include his parents; a brother, Ryan Kingsella of Springdale; and a sister, Morgan Norris of Gentry.

Memorial services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church in Gentry.

Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.

Otho Dudley Rosser

Otho Dudley Rosser, 71, of Bentonville, died Nov. 4, 2010, at Circle of Life Legacy in Bentonville.

He was born Oct. 16, 1939, in Rogers, Texas, to Willie Erie and Margaret Lee Riddle Rosser. He served in the U.S. Navy for 11 years.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Rosser; two sons, Burton Glasgow of Bella Vista and Keith Glasgow of Gentry; two daughters, Mary Shea Dorsey of Bella Vista, and Fawnette Honeycutt of Moyock, N.C.; eight grandchildren; and a greatgrandchild.

No services are planned.

Arrangements are by the Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory.

Anna Shay

Anna Mae Shay, 93, of Siloam Springs, died Nov. 6, 2010, at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital.

She was born Sept. 21, 1917, in Hindsville, to John W. Wade and Lula Creek. She was raised in the Hindsville and Sonora area. She moved to Gentry with her husband Buck who preceded her in death in 1984. She worked for Allen Canning Company and was the first production worker to can chicken. She also worked at Gentry Head Start and Connie’s Dress Shop in Gentry. She was a member of Siloam Springs First Christian Church and taught Sunday school to children for over 50 years.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, William Dean Shay; a great-grandson, Tucker Wayne Nation; 4 brothers, Howard; Buck; Raymond and Clyde Wade.

Survivors include her daughter Judy Nation and husband Bill of Siloam Springs; one grandson; and two great grandsons.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, at First Christian Church in Siloam Springs, with Vance Eubanks and Andrew Stout officiating.

Arrangements are by Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.

Odessa Wilmoth

Odessa Wilmoth, 91, of Rogers, died Nov. 5, 2010, at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville.

She was born May 19, 1919, in Decatur to Lester and Stella Austin. She was a former resident of Gravette.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Wilmoth.

Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Woodrow Wilmoth Jr. of Fredericksburg, Va., and Phil and Mary Ann Wilmoth of Bentonville; five grandchildren; seven greatgrandchildren; two great-great-granddaughters; one sister, Ruby Henry of Grove, Okla.; and two brothers, Jack Austin of Gravette, and Lester Austin of Decatur.

Funeral services were held Nov. 8 at Grace Baptist Church in Rogers. Burial was in Decatur Cemetery.

Arrangements were by Stockdale Funeral Services in Rogers.

Johnnie Van Fleet

Johnnie Levi Van Fleet, 79, of Colcord, Okla., died Nov. 6, at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital in Siloam Springs.

He was born April 28, 1931, in Peoria, Okla., he was the son of Claude Edward Van Fleet and Josephine Linn Van Fleet and had been a lifetime resident of Colcord. He married Wilma Nadine McDaniel in l952. He was retired from Franklin Electric Company after having worked l9 years as a welder. He attended The Lighthouse south of Kansas, Okla., and enjoyed playing the drum for church services.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Emma Pike; half brother Ed Van Fleet and half sister Pearl Hendren.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; two daughters, Joy Hignite and her husband Bob of Colcord; Sandy Parris and her husband Tony of Siloam Springs; one brother Don Van Fleet of Gentry; one sister, Betty Rankin of Decatur; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, at Wasson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 11, in Wasson Chapel with Sam Andrews officiating. Burial will follow at Row Cemetery.
