DNE receives Walmart donation

WESTSIDE — Conrad Miller, general manager of the Walmart transportation department, presented Northside Elementary School principal Leslie Sharp with a check for $1,050 on Oct. 4.

The check was for the transportation department's "Miles for Education" fundraiser. For every safe mile local drivers travel during the fund-raising period, a certain amount of money is donated to the program. Each year employees choose which school will be the recipient of the money, Miller said.

"It's awesome, we really appreciate it," Sharp said.
