MT. PLEASANT NEWS

Thanksgiving is gone. Christmas is on the way.

On Saturday the 19th of November we had our annual Thanksgiving dinner at Mt. Pleasant. We had a great time in fellowship and a lot of great food. We have a lot of great cooks at our church. Then on Tuesday the 22nd we joined other Hiwasse area churches for our annual Community Thanksgiving at Hiwasse Nazarene Church. We had a very good turn-out and lots of great singing. Afterwards we gathered for snacks and good old fashioned fellowship. We need to do this more often.

Alan and I hosted a family thanksgiving at our house again this year. Had a good turnout. Missed Bill as he was still in rehab from his knee surgery. He is home now and I believe his first day home he was at Austin's Drug store for coffee. I pray for his continued recovery. I also pray for Julie's continued recovery as well. She had knee surgery a few days before Bill.

Mt. Pleasant’s Sunbeams are getting ready for their Christmas play. It promises to be a very good one. All the kids seem to be excited.

Granddaughter Austyn McVay spent the day Friday and Friday nightwith me and the girls. On Saturday Alan and I took them shopping. Had a very good time. It just went by too fast.

On Thursday, December 1, several of our church family gathered at the Monte Ne Chicken Inn for a going away supper for Wilma. This is another thing that has gone by too fast and that is Wilma’s stay. Unfortunately she had to leave on the 6th. I for one didn't want her to leave. It seems as if she just got here and now is turning around to leave. Pray that she makes it home safely and that she returns soon.

Have a blessed week. Pray for one another and our country.
