— Lensey Watson, a senior at Decatur High School, joined FFA students from across the state at the 2011 Arkansas Leadership Conference from July 4 through 8 at Camp Couchdale, near Hot Springs.

The five day program helps FFA members improve their leadership skills and prepare for leadership roles in their chapters, communities and future careers. Students attended sessions on global leadership, developing personal and community action plans and the diversity of human relationships. They also participated in a day of service, working on community projects close to the campgrounds.

The National FFA Organization, formerly known as the Future Farmers of America, is a national youth organization of 507,763 student members all preparing for leadership and careers in the science, business and technology of agriculture.
