Woman arrested for Garden Walk theft

— The Gravette Police Department, last Wednesday, arrested a Bella Vista woman for an alleged felony theft and filing a false police report.

Sharon Elnicki, 62, former manager of Garden Walk Apartments in Gravette, had reported $4,810 in rental payments were stolen from her vehicle.

According to a police department press release, “After the money was reported stolen, the Garden Walk management alleged she was taking money from the tenants. During the investigation, the police department discovered the subject was taking rental and deposit payments in cash, blank money orders or checks left blank. She would then deposit them into her checking account.”

After several interviews, Elnicki admitted filing a false police report and depositing the rental money into her checking account, the release stated.

According to an audi tby the apartment owners, a total of $11,384.95 was allegedly taken, and a warrant for Elnicki’s arrest was issued August 12. She is awaiting bond hearing at the Benton County Jail.
