Gentry girls finish 6th in holiday tournament

— SILOAM SPRINGS - The Gentry girls finished sixth overall in the Siloam Springs Holiday Invitational held Thursday, Friday and Saturday at Siloam Springs High School.

Gentry lost to McAlester, Okla., in the fifth place game on Saturday afternoon 66-47.

Tara Arnold led the Lady Pioneers with 14 points, while Destiny Thomas had 13 points.

Arnold scored 19 pointsin Gentry’s 44-34 win against Wagoner, Okla. on Friday in the tournament. Thomas added 17 points in that game.

The Lady Pioneers opened the tournament on Thursday with a 53-20 loss to Tahlequah, Okla.Thomas led the Lady Pioneers with six points.

Pioneers lose three

The Gentry boys basketball team went 0-3 at the Siloam Springs Holiday Invitational.

The Pioneers were beaten by Prairie Grove 63-31 in the seventh place game on Saturday to finish eighth overall.

Dusty Haag led the Pioneers with 10 points.

Haag had his best game of the tournament onFriday against Wagoner, Okla., scoring 29 points, but the Pioneers lost 60-44.

Haag also had 13 points in Gentry’s 75-35 loss to Shiloh Christian on Thursday in the opening game of the tournament.
