GENTRY — The Lady Pioneers ended their season on a sad note Friday when they were toppled 52-38 in state playoffs against the Star City Lady Bulldogs at Cave City.
The loss ended Gentry's hopes of coming back and winning a state championship after a tough season.
The Lady Pioneers were close at times in the game against the Lady Bulldogs - down only by two baskets at the half - but were unable to grab the lead.
The Star City team went on to be defeated by Malvern, 33-23, in play on Saturday.
