GENTRY - A special school board meeting was held following graduation ceremonies in Siloam Springs to appoint a member of the board to a screening committee for the selection of a new high school girls’ basketball coach for the upcoming school year.
The board unanimously accepted the resignation of Timothy Rippy as senior girls’ basketball coach, with an expression of thanks for his years of service in Gentry.
Rippy, according to the board agenda, has accepted a similar position in the Siloam Springs School District.
The board then, again by a 7-0 vote, selected board member Coye Cripps to represent the board on the screening committee for the hiring of a new coach.
Despite a slow start, Rippy coached this year’s senior girls’ team in a-come-from-behind season all the way to the state playoffs. See Article above on Rippy's resignation.
