Programs planned to honor veterans

— Gravette area veterans will be honored during two programs at Gravette schools on Veterans’ Day next Monday, Nov. 11.

The Gravette High School Student Council extends an invitation to all veterans and their spouses to attend an all-high school assembly at 9 a.m. A program in their honor will be presented in the Performing Arts Center. This is an annual programwhich recognizes those who have served our nation in the various armed services.

The honorees are being encouraged to attend a reception in the high school commons at about 8:30 a.m. preceding the assembly.

The assembly will include a patriotic program by the GHS band, choir and drama departments, as well as recognition of all veterans attending.

Middle School Program

Later that day, at noon, veterans and their families are invited to meet in the Middle School Library for a light lunch. The group will then move to the competition gymnasium at 1 p.m. for a program which will feature faculty member Robert Grass, who last year at this time was serving in Afghanistan.

The band and choir will perform, and recognition of all veterans attending will be a special part of the program which is being hosted by the Middle School Builders Club.
