MAYSVILLE NEWS

By Katherine Tucker

This week’s news is two weeks combined. We are having August weather the first part of September. We are in need of rain. Fall isn’t too far away.

Orpha Wardlaw and Katherine Tucker attended the retirement reception for Robert Seay last week at the County Extension Offi ce. He has been the county agent for several years. We wish him the best in his retirement. He will be missed.

Christi Wardlaw of Little Rock spent Labor Day weekend with her mother, Orpha Wardlaw, and attended church with Orpha. She knows we always expect her to sing for us when she is here.

I had a good Labor Day weekend. Seth and Melody Tucker and Judah of Harrisoncame up to Steve and Susan Tucker’s on Sunday evening. Seth and Susan ran in the 3 mile run at Rogers on Labor Day for needy and abused children. Then I had several visitors including the ones from Harrison, Steve and Susan Tucker of Bella Vista, my cousins Jerry and Elaine Casey of Bentonville, Tracy Warren and Skyler Warren. I really enjoyed all of them.

Next Sunday will be Friends Day and Homecoming at the Maysville Bible Church for former members and visitors. Everyone is invited. We will have regular morning services, then a potluck dinner for a fellowship lunch. Bring a dish and join us. In the afternoon we will have singing, fellowship and devotions. Hope to see you there.

Jack and Sylvia Tuckerwent to Lowell on Labor Day to a cookout and good time with family at their daughter Patti’s home. Present were Petru and Patti, Les and Jean Martindale, Carroll Tucker and Pam, Justin and Valerie Sappington of Lowell and their twin daughters Abby and Lauren. They had plenty of good food and enjoyed the time together.

Jack and Sylvia Tucker were celebrating their 61st wedding anniversary on Saturday. They met other family members at Cotton-Eyed Joe’s at Noel to eat on Saturday evening. Those attending were Les and Jean Martindale, Patti and Petru, Carroll Tucker and Pam, Justin and Valerie Sappington and girls Abby and Lauren. They report a nice evening. Happy Anniversary. Hope you have many more together.
