GRAVETTE -- Two public meetings to provide information and to answer questions concerning a proposed Gravette school in Bella Vista have been scheduled by the Gravette (Dist. 20) School Board.

A new elementary school, to be located near the Highlands entrance in Bella Vista, has been discussed and in the planning stage by the board for several months. The meetings are scheduled to clarify the project and its possible cost, as well as how the facility could be financed.

The board has made no final decision on the plan, nor has action been taken concerning an election asking voters to approve an increase in the district's millage rate.

A second construction project under consideration is an 8,500 square foot, six-classroom addition to the Gravette High School building. A PowerPoint presentation of the design will be given at scheduled public meetings, and an information flyer with answers to questions which have been asked will be available. The flyer information will also be posted on the Gravette school website, Page said.

The first meeting will be held Monday, Feb. 17, at 7 p.m., at the Gravette High School commons.

A second meeting will be held Thursday, Feb. 20, at 7 p.m., at Highlands Crossing in Bella Vista.

The meetings are open to all and anyone interested is being encouraged to attend one of the meetings.
