Gentry High School plans Veterans Day Assembly

Community invited to join students and staff in honoring area veterans

— Gentry High School will be hosting its annual Veterans Day Assembly from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 11, in the high school auditorium. The students and staff are reaching out to the local community members and inviting them to join the school in recognizing the men and women who have served our country.

The Veterans Day Assembly will include patriotic music performed by the Gentry High School choir and band. A brief history of Veterans Day will be presented by GHS history teacher, Michael Graham. Plans include a presentation of the colors, standing recognition of veterans and a presentation by the Arkansas National Guard.

There will be a wall of remembrance created by the GHS art club on display in the Gentry Library/Community Building Nov. 7-9 for community members to sign in memory of a lost veteran. This wall of memory will also be in the auditorium during and after the assembly for students and all other attendees to sign.
