Who will demand action for the children?

Over the past two weeks, the media, politicians, religious leaders and others have expressed alarm, outrage and strident calls for action to address the plight of hundreds of children of illegal migrants separated from their parents.

Nelson Mandela: "The true character of a society is revealed in how it treats its children." Mahatma Ghandi: "A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members."

Where is the call for action on behalf of the millions of children born and living in America every day who are separated from their parents and otherwise abused? When the media and political storm abates, who will be demanding action for them? Very few, I suspect.
