DECATUR -- With school less than a month away, it is time for the annual Decatur Middle and High School enrollment period.
Toby Conrad, high school principal, set up the early enrollment week three years ago as a way to get students from grades 5-12 ready for the 2018-19 school year which begins Aug. 13.
The early enrollment period allows students to pick up their class schedules, get locker assignments and fill out any unfinished paperwork the students might have. It also affords new students to the district the chance to tour both campuses in order to become more familiar with their surroundings before the first day of classes.
With the completion of the new gym, office, nurses' station and restroom areas, the look of Decatur Middle School will be totally different and may prove to be a little confusing.
Parents are requested to be present, if possible, during the enrollment process. Parents with students in both the middle and high school can register their children at the same time.
Students will need to bring all emergency contact numbers so that information can be in the system and ready to go by Aug. 13.
Students and parents can pick up schedules and provide other information in the common area and high school office in the main entrance of Decatur High School during the following days and times:
Monday, July 30, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Tuesday, July 31, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Wednesday, Aug. 1, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Thursday, Aug. 2, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Friday, Aug. 3, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
