Six seniors candidates for queen title

GENTRY -- Six senior girls will be vying for the title of homecoming queen on Friday night in Pioneer Stadium at Gentry High School. Queen candidates include Whitly Cochran, Laney Fredrick, Courtney McCollum, Danielle Spencer, Cha Chi Vang and Brently Wade.

Other girls on the homecoming court include junior maids Madison Stanfill, Alexus Sparks, Avani Edwards; sophomore maids Emmi Hays, Dru Sikes, Taylor Norman; and freshman maids Olivia Snead, Liberty Brannon and Ambry Smith.

Escorts include Brandon Atwood, Seiren Reding, Abran Still, Beau Tomblin, Azariah Wood, Giovanny Ramirez, Sam Santiago, Peyton Wright, Kyle Dilbeck, Dylan Rayburn, Ayden Smartt, Jackson Bolinger, Garrett Hays, Kerlose Ruzek, Ross Wilmoth, Devon Ellis, Rowdy Trammell, Hunter Butler, Jamon Mathis, Dylan Kilgore and Gavin Taylor.

The theme for this year's homecoming is a boardgame theme: "Gentry's Got Game."

Homecoming ceremonies will be held before the Friday night homecoming game against Green Forest. Homecoming ceremonies are set for 6:30 p.m., with the football game to begin at 7 p.m.

Rehearsal for maids, escorts, football players, cheerleaders and the band is set for 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, in Pioneer Stadium.

The annual powderpuff games between classes are set to begin at 12:50 p.m., Wednesday, in Pioneer Stadium (with an alternative Thursday date should they be rained out on Wednesday).

A homecoming pep rally is set for 10:30 a.m., Friday, in Pioneer Stadium (weather permitting).

And, the homecoming parade (weather permitting) is set to begin at 1 p.m. on Friday. The parade will begin at Gentry High School and travel down Pioneer Lane, past the Intermediate School, and through downtown Gentry on Main Street.
