DECATUR -- For students at Decatur High School, Oct. 12 marks the football teams' return to Bulldog Stadium after several long weeks on the road and the annual homecoming celebration.

Homecoming events begin two weeks earlier with the selection of senior, junior, sophomore and freshmen maids for the homecoming court. Only the seniors are eligible to become queen.

Senior maids vying for the title of the 2018 Decatur homecoming queen include Desi Meek, Presley Smith, Joni Moppin and Amber Lydon.

The queen's court consists of junior maids Tabby Tilley and Emmy Lee, sophomore maid Bronwyn Berry, and freshman maid Mayra Flores.

Escorts for this year's court include Cayden Bingham, Jimmy Mendoza, Austin Hamilton, Victor Gonzalez, Bryson Funk, Seth Coleman, Lauro Molina and Javier Perez.

The 2018 Decatur High School Homecoming event kicks off with a parade through downtown Decatur at 1 p.m., followed by a pep rally at Peterson Gym at around 2:15 p.m.
