GRAVETTE -- John and Lyn Guffey, owners of Snappy Dry Cleaning in Siloam Springs, recently made a welcome donation of services to the Gravette High School band. Guffey volunteered to clean the high school marching band uniforms at no charge, saying he just wanted to do something for the community. Aaron Ray, high school band director, said he'd been wondering how he was going to get the uniforms cleaned since there was no dry cleaner in Gravette. Some of the uniforms had not been cleaned in several years.
Ray eagerly accepted Guffey's generous offer and Guffey came to the band room on Friday, Aug. 31, and picked up 66 uniforms to take for dry cleaning. Ray is looking forward to having them ready for upcoming marching band competitions and performances at fall football games and parades.
Tammie Loyd, owner of Sophie's Boutique in Gravette, has announced that Guffey will be offering another service with the addition of a pickup dry cleaning service at her shop at 115 S.E. Main. Customers with dry cleaning needs may drop off items at Sophie's for pickup. Guffey will pick up items about 5 p.m. on Wednesdays and at 2 or 3 p.m. on Fridays. Items left at Sophie's before 5 on Wednesday will be returned on Friday and items left before 2 on Friday will be returned the following Wednesday.
Open hours at Sophie's are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays. Anyone having questions may call the business at 479-295-5214.
