Lady Lions take down Pioneers in three straight

GENTRY -- The Lady Pioneers fell in three straight sets to the visiting Lady Lions on Sept. 4 in the Gentry High School gym, 25-10, 25-9 and 25-15.

Olivia Perry, a Gravette junior, led Gravette in kills with seven. Gravette sophomore Shelbye Varner had four. Perry also had 12 solo blocks for Gravette, along with one assist.

Madison McDaniel led Gravette in digs with eight. Alexis Gerner, a Gravette senior, led Gravette with 10 serving aces in three sets. Kaylee Midyett and Haley Dawson, also both seniors, had nine each.

The win was Gravette's first for the season. It was Gentry's fourth loss for the season.

On Thursday, the Gentry girls lost to Berryville in an away match, 3-0. Set scores were 25-15, 25-14 and 25-16.

No other stats were reported for Gentry.
