Pioneers take fourth in Pea Ridge

GENTRY -- The Pioneer boys' track team took fourth place in the Pea Ridge track meet on Thursday, behind Pea Ridge, Siloam Springs and Springdale. The girls' team finished 14th.

Blake Wilkinson took gold in the high jump, clearing 6-1. Beau Tomblin finished second, clearing 5-9.

In the long jump, it was Zach Jarnagan in first with a jump of 20 feet, seven inches. Tomblin finished in seventh, clearing 18 feet, 8 inches. Jarnagan also took gold in the triple jump, clearing 42 feet, 11 inches. Blake Wilkinson finished in sixth and Sam Santiago in seventh, with distances of 39-3 and 38-0, respectively.

Kerlose Ruzek threw the shot 39 feet, 10 inches for a sixth-place finish. He took first in the discus with a throw of 130 feet, 11.5 inches.

Jacob Truman finished third in the 1600-meterrunwith a time of 4:58.60.

Jarnagan finished fifth in the 100-meter run with a time of 11.80.

Santiago finished second in the 400-meter dash with a time of 54.44.

Truman was eighth in the 800-meter run at 2:17.54.

The team of Santiago, Wilkinson, Tomblin and Truman finished in third place in the 4x400 relay, with a time of 3:50.79.

On the girls' side, Shelyn Roa finished sixth in the 3200-meter run, with a time of 15:35.16, for Gentry's only points in the meet.
