DECATUR -- In the final appearance of their high school career, seniors Cayden Bingham, Ryan Ross and Jimmy Mendoza were honored by Bulldog fans during senior night at Peterson Gym in Decatur Feb. 5.

Hoping for a big victory against the Life Way Warriors, the trio took to the court for the final contest of the 2018-19 regular season. But a win was not to be for the Bulldogs. The Warriors claimed the victory by 28 points.

Life Way was the first to score, early in the first quarter, and by the halfway point led by eight. The Bulldogs and Warriors battled it out through the remainder of the quarter with Life Way jumping out in front by three at the end of the quarter. Life Way came alive in the second quarter, outscoring Decatur, 22-12, to extend its lead to 13 by the halftime break.

The Bulldogs were never able to cut into the Warriors' lead in the second half. By the final buzzer, the Life Way Warriors claimed the victory over the Decatur Bulldogs, 77-49.

Leading the scoring effort for the Decatur Bulldogs was Ryan Ross with 14, followed by Conner Sutton with 10, Bryson Funk with eight, Kevin Garcia with seven and Cayden Bingham with six. Jose Rubi and Jimmy Mendoza contributed two points each to the scoring drive.

The Decatur Bulldogs finished the 2018-19 regular season with an overall record of 3-19 as the team traveled to Yellville for the start of the 4A Region 1 district tournament Feb. 11.
