DECATUR -- As the basketball season winds down to the playoffs, another sport is just beginning. For the Decatur Lady Bulldogs, the two-time 1A State track champions, the season began with a trip to the University of Arkansas to participate in 1A-4A Arkansas Indoor High School Track Championship at the Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville on Feb. 1.
The Bulldogs took second place in the 1A-2A division with 60 points, behind the Yellville-Summit Lady Panthers with 80 points.
Senior Desi Meek was the 1A-2A high-point individual for the meet with her first-place finishes in the 60-meter hurdles and the triple jump. She placed second place in the 60-meter, 200-meter and 400-meter runs.
The Decatur boys' team finished eighth in the meet.
