Ward, Kilgore crowned at Gentry coronation ceremonies

GENTRY -- Madison Ward and Dylan Kilgore were crowned queen and king at basketball coronation ceremonies held Friday evening at Gentry High School.

Two senior girls, Ward and Jaydon Jarnagan, were candidates for the special queen honor. Ward was escorted by Kilgore in the ceremonies. Jarnagan was escorted by sophomore Zack Jarnagan.

Last year's queen, Hannah Boss, placed the robe and crown on Ward before Ward and Kilgore posed for photos and Kilgore gave Ward the ceremonial kiss.

Other participating in the ceremonies included kindergarten mascots Sakari Hansen and Cooper Hillis, junior maid Heidi Vinson escorted by Hunter Mills, junior maid Ahrya Reding escorted by Blake Wilkinson, junior maid Ariel Nix escorted by Brett Hester, junior maid Meledy Owens escorted by Brian Magana, junior maid Raegan Jude escorted by Giovanny Ramirez, junior maid Kinley Hays escorted by Charlie Reams, sophomore maid Jaiden Wilmoth escorted by Jose Barrios, sophomore maid Darien Welch escorted by Casey Bates, sophomore maid Emily Toland escorted by Clancy Milam, sophomore maid Cameron Thorburn escorted by Beau Tomblin, sophomore maid Halle Reid escorted by Cory Hockenberry, sophomore maid Ashlyn Little escorted by Gavin Taylor, sophomore maid Alexis Fowler escorted by Garrett Brown and sophomore maid Randi Jo Bolinger escorted by Jackson Bolinger.

Cheerleaders Whitly Cochran, Nicole Guntharp, Danielle Spencer, Madison Boyd, Hannah Brown, Falyn Cordeiro, Ame Radford, Dru Sikes, Lexi Harlan, Emmi Hays, Emma Anderson and Brooke Blevins also participated. Lady Pioneer basketball manager Makenna Ward and videographer Jackson McAfee were also introduced.

The coronation ceremonies followed a week of special activities and dress-up days at the high school. This year's theme was "We Got the Beat."
