WESTSIDE -- Desi Meek and Destiny Mejia brought home the gold after competing in the Elks Senior Relays track meet in Elkins March 7 and contributed to the Decatur Lady Bulldogs' third-place finish at the end of the meet.

Meek, who holds the 1A state champion title in the 100- and300-meter hurdles, took first place in both of those events. Mejia, the 1A state high jump champion, took first in that event, tying her state personal best jump at 5 feet, one inch.

Sophomore Browyn Berry also earned a gold medal in the discus with a throw of 85 feet.

The boys' team finished in ninth place with 16.50 points.

300 Hurdles: 1 Meek 48.79, 6 Mejia 55.44.

High Jump: 1 Mejia 5-01.

Triple Jump: 7 Sandoval 26-09.

Pole Vault: 5 Meek 7-00.

Discus: 1 Berry 85-00.

Shot Put: 6 Berry 27-04, Olivia Verser 24-10.

Boys

110 Hurdles: 5 Cayden Bingham 18.65, 6 Tafari James 18.98.

300 Hurdles: 6 Bingham 46.15, 8 James 47.60

High Jump: 6 Ryan Ross 5-06, 7 James 5-04.

Shot Put: 10 Javier Perez 33-01.
