BENTONVILLE -- Leaders from a recognition program saluting achievement in career and technical education presented honors to several Northwest Arkansas high school students on Feb. 26.
Seven students were honored as the winners and honorable mention recipients of the Regional Student Career and Technical Leadership Award. Representatives from the Northwest Arkansas Council, NorthWest Arkansas Community College, Northwest Arkansas Education Service Cooperative and Northwest Technical Institute honored the students at a reception at the Northwest Arkansas Council. The top three students will receive $1,000 scholarships to NWACC or NWTI to continue to advance their career and technical education skills.
The award recipients were:
Ryan McKnight, West Fork High School, Construction Technology
Preston Hyatt, Eureka Springs High School, Construction Technology
Alvaro Serrano, Siloam Springs High School, Healthcare
Honorable mention recipients were Kevin German (Gentry High School), Hannah Martin (Rogers Heritage High School), Ashley Guess (Gentry High School) and Nayelie Maldonado (Rogers Heritage High School). Students receiving honorable mention will receive a $250 scholarship to NWACC or NTI.
