Highfill's Extension Homemakers Club

The Highfill E.H.C. met Oct. 21 in the Gentry Public Library. No guests were present in October.

The pledge of allegiance was said by all. The song this month was "How Great Thou Art." Roll call was answered with our volunteer hours. We had 10 members and 317 hours.

The inspirational thoughts were given by Helene Zambrano. The title was "Bitter Sweets." It was very good. New ideas were shared. Jeanie Hittson showed stuffed pumpkins and fall placemats. Shirley Philpott showed watercolor pictures, and Peggy Dillahunty showed a Christmas ornament and she showed how it was made.

The minutes were read and the treasurer's report was given.

The club's new community project will be helping with the food insecurity in the area. We also have a small water bottle to be filled with dimes and given at the state meeting.

Peggy Dillahunty had the lesson and it was how to prune your ornamental shrubs and grasses. It was very informative.

The club closed with "The Homemakers Prayer."

The next meeting is at 10 a.m. on Nov. 18 in the Gentry Library. Guests are always welcome.
