WESTSIDE -- The Gravette Lions had a tough go of it when the team traveled to Blackhawk Stadium in Pea Ridge for a conference football matchup with Blackhawks Friday night. When the contest ended 90 minutes later, Pea Ridge claimed a shutout victory, 42-0, over Gravette.

The first half of the Oct. 11 contest was all Blackhawks as its offense went to work, scoring four touchdowns and point-afters in the first quarter and two in the second to take a commanding 42 point lead. The Pea Ridge defense managed to keep Gravette away from the end zone, holding the Lions scoreless at the half time break.

The second half was all defense, with neither team crossing the goal line.

At the end of week seven of the 2019 football schedule, the Gravette Lions are currently 2-4 overall and 1-2 in the 4A Region 1 conference with four games left in the season.

Gravette returns to action Oct. 18 at home against the Berryville Bobcats in another conference matchup. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
