GRAVETTE -- More than 100 visitors attended a quilt show, held Friday and Saturday, Oct. 11 and 12, at the Gravette Civic Center. Co-sponsored by the Gravette Historical Museum Commission and the PieceMakers Quilt Club, the "My Grandma and Me" quilt show featured 45 quilts, both antique and modern.

Persons who attended the show were asked to choose a favorite among the quilts displayed. Several guests refused to vote for a favorite, saying they were all winners. Some said it was too hard to make a decision since there were so many beautiful creations on display. Those who voted, however, chose a Trip Around the World pattern quilt made by Peggy Horne of Jay, Okla. Horne, who has recently taken over as teacher of the PieceMakers club, was delighted to receive the honor since this was the first show in which she has exhibited.

Second place honors were won by a Cathedral Window pattern quilt made in 1987 by Bernice Stark, mother-in-law of Lavon Stark, a member of the PieceMakers group.

The next meeting of the PieceMakers Quilt Club will be held at 12:30 p.m. this Saturday, Oct. 19, at the Gravette Church of Christ annex, located at 202 Irving Street S.W.
