GENTRY -- Have a band instrument sitting around that no one is using? If so, you might consider putting that musical instrument to good use by donating it to the Gentry band program.

Hayley Evans, Gentry's new band director at the middle school and high school, reports 114 students signing up for beginning band this year, and many of those students do not have an instrument or a way to obtain one because of the expense involved.

As a result, the school is accepting donations of working band instruments to be used for the school's band program. Any instrument will be accepted, according to Evans, but there is a special need for band instruments like flutes, clarinets, saxophones, trumpets, cornets, trombones and baritones.

If you have an instrument you could donate, you may email Evans at, or you may call the high school office at 479-736-2667. Your help in providing instruments for these students will be much appreciated.
