NAGS

The Northwest Arkansas Genealogical Society will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23, in the Bentonville Public Library at 405 South Main in Bentonville. Nancy Feroe will present a program on "Using Google to Find Old Family Records and Stories." Nancy has researched her family for many years and is a former NAGS president. Free quilt class

A free class for area quilters and crafters will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, in the Gravette Church of Christ annex, 202 Irving Street S.W. A show and tell time will be held. All who are interested are invited to come and bring finished projects or works in progress and a snack to share.

Gospel music concert

Gravette First Assembly of God Church will host a gospel music concert by the New Revival Quartet at 6 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 29. The church is located 1 mile west of town on Highway 72. Church members invite all in the area to come and enjoy the gospel music with them.

Pickin' Time on 59

Pickin' Time on 59 is coming up at the end of September. This year's dates are Thursday through Saturday, Sept. 26-28. Hours will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. The event will feature garage and yard sales from Siloam Springs to Sulphur Springs, with offerings of antiques, collectibles, vintage items and more. Those wishing to hold garage sales in Gentry will not be required to obtain a city permit on those days. Bicycle Glow Ride

A bicycle glow ride is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 28, in Gentry. Participants are invited to meet on the north side of Gentry's city park before dark to decorate bicycles and apply glow sticks. The ride down Main Street will begin at dusk (approximately 7:30 p.m.).

Coffee with a Cop

Coffee with a Cop will be held in Gentry at the Arvest Bank Conference Room, 320 E. Main Street in Gentry, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 2. The event is to allow members of the community to get to know their police officers, ask questions and voice concerns.

Falling Springs Singing

Monthly singing services at Falling Springs Church are held at 7 p.m. the first Friday of each month. The church is located northwest of Gentry and west of Decatur on Falling Springs Road.

First Baptist Pantry

First Baptist Church, located at 213 E. Roller Avenue in Decatur, holds a community food pantry on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. For more information, contact the church at 479-282-6658.

TOPS in Gentry

Gentry TOPS AR113, a nonprofit group which promotes healthy weight loss, meets every Monday at the First Christian Church Fellowship Room, Second and Giles, with a weigh-in at 2:15 p.m. and the meeting at 3 p.m. There is a small fee to join but the first meeting is free.

Decatur UMC Pantry

The Decatur United Methodist Church Food Pantry is open the first and third Thursday evening of each month from 5 to 6:30 p.m. and offers food boxes to Decatur residents. All that is needed is a valid identification, a utility bill or piece of mail showing an address in the 72722 ZIP code area. Also available is a USDA commodity program to residents of Decatur and other communities without a commodity program. The commodity program requires income information. GFA Food Pantry

The GFA food pantry at the First Assembly of God in Gentry is open from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesdays. The church partners with the NWA Food Bank and Rural Compassion to receive food to be given away, including canned goods, fresh vegetables, bread, milk and dairy products, eggs and meats. Other items such as toilet paper, shampoo, cleaning products and baby supplies are also available as supplies last. Clients are asked to call for an appointment. Mobile Food Bank

The Northwest Arkansas Food Bank has added a stop in Gravette, at 10 a.m. on the fourth Tuesday of each month at the Billy V. Hall Complex. The stop is the 11th mobile pantry in Northwest Arkansas. Food boxes, as well as fruits, vegetables and protein, are distributed to up to 90 households.

Tired Iron Club

Tired Iron of the Ozarks antique engine and tractor club meets at 7 p.m. the third Tuesday of each month at the club's show grounds, located at 13344 Taylor Orchard Road in Gentry. For more information, visit the club's website at tiredironoftheozarks.org.

Decatur VFW Post

VFW Post 9834 meets at 7:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month. Guests are welcome.

Lions Meetings

The Gravette Lions Club meets at 12:15 p.m. the first and third Tuesday of the month at the Billy V. Hall Senior Activity and Wellness Center, 1870 Limekiln Road, in Gravette. The Gentry Lions Club meets at 6:30 p.m. on the fourth Monday of the month at the McKee Community Room in Gentry Public Library. New members are welcome and invited.

Kiwanis Club

The Gravette Kiwanis Club holds breakfast meetings at 7 a.m. each Friday at the cafeteria inside Ozarks Community Hospital. Guests are welcome.

Legion Meetings

Gravette American Legion, Post 25, meets at 7 p.m. the third Tuesday of the month at the Civic Center. All veterans are welcome. Those interested in joining the American Legion, and especially Post 25, may contact the Gravette post at P.O. Box 476, Gravette, AR 72736.
