Newspaper to continue publishing in print format

WESTSIDE -- The shift toward digital publication for the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette is not changing the way in which weekly newspapers like the Westside Eagle Observer are delivered.

Though plans are to publish the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette in print on Sundays and in a digital format that replicates a printed newspaper on other days, the weekly publications will continue to be printed each week, delivered to subscribers by mail and will be available in newsstands and news racks as usual.

News stories published in the print edition of the Eagle Observer will continue to be available online, as well, at www.eagleobserver.com. And a digital replica edition has been added for subscribers who would prefer to page through the newspaper on a tablet, cellphone or computer.

On Jan. 20, the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette included the announcement of Walter E. Hussman, Jr., publisher of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette and Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, to convert the two large daily newspapers to digital publication except for Sundays by the end of this summer.
