Lions lose to Cardinals in conference contest on the road

WESTSIDE -- The Lions hit the wet roads of Northwest Arkansas Friday night for their next conference contest against the Cardinals in Farmington. The Lions almost pulled off their second win of the week, but a few missed shots at the end of the contest cost them the game by six points.

The first half was more of a defensive contest, with neither the Lions nor the Cardinals dominating the boards. Four field goals on both sides ended the first quarter with an 8-8 tie. The Cardinals gained a slim advantage in the second quarter to lead the Lions by a field goal going into the halftime break.

Farmington went on the offensive in the third quarter, holding Gravette to a pair of field goals, while extending its lead to nine going into the final eight minutes of the contest.

Gravette tried to get back into the fourth quarter but time ran out before the Lions could catch the Cardinals. Farmington claimed the conference victory, 48-42, over Gravette.
