Pioneers come back, beat Life Way in final innings

GENTRY -- The Pioneers scored a run in the sixth and two more in the seventh to bring home an 11-10 victory over Life Way on Thursday.

With one out and with Gentry down by one in the seventh, Isiah Lemke scored on a wild pitch and Brayden Feathers singled on a 3-2 count and brought home the winning run.

The Pioneers finished with 11 runs on nine hits in the game but also committed seven errors. Life Way had 10 runs on six hits, with four errors in the game.

Gentry took a 6-5 lead in the first inning, but Life way took the lead, 9-7, after three. Both teams picked up a run in the fourth.

Colby Young started on the mound for Gentry and allowed nine runs on two hits over two innings, striking out three. Ross Wilmoth threw four innings, allowing two hits and one run. Isaak Crittenden threw one inning and allowed two hits.

Lemke and Dawson Rayburn each had multiple hits for Gentry. Lemke had three hits in five at-bats, two of them doubles. Lemke also stole three bases in the game.
