Gravette Spring Cleanup

The city of Gravette is holding its annual spring cleanup the week of May 18-23. Dumpsters have been set up at the old bus barn property on Charlotte Street across the street from the Civic Center. Citizens may drop off disposable items between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday or until the dumpsters are full. No tires, electronics, flammable liquids, paints or coolants will be accepted.

Gentry Spring Cleanup

Gentry will hold its annual spring cleanup from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, and Sunday, May 31, at the city park on the north side of Main Street in Gentry. The event includes large dumpsters, recycling bins, electronic waste collection and tire disposal (4 tires per resident maximum). Proof of Gentry residency is required. Household hazardous waste disposal will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, only.

Gravette Farmers Market

The Gravette Farmers Market will open Saturday, May 23, in Old Town Park. Hours for the market will be 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fresh fruits and vegetables, eggs, farm-raised beef and pork products, jams and jellies, honey and baked goods will be available. Senior Farmers Market coupons and WIC vouchers will be honored. Potential vendors should call manager Beth Patton at 479-787-3313 to reserve a booth.

Library Offers Curbside Service

Gentry Public Library is now offering curbside service to patrons. Starting on Monday, the library began offering pickup service to patrons in good standing. Patrons may check out books and other materials between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday by calling ahead at 479-736-2054 or by emailing [email protected]. Patrons can then park behind the library and call. Library staff will bring the bagged items out and leave them for the patrons to pick up after the library staff members have returned inside the library. First Baptist Food Pantry

First Baptist Church, located at 213 E. Roller Ave. in Decatur, holds a community food pantry on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. For more information, contact the church at 479-282-6658.

GFA Food Pantry

GFA Pantry Inc. at the Gentry Assembly is open from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesdays. The pantry is drive-through only during the COVID-19 pandemic. Clients are asked to call 662-727-5157 or email [email protected] for appointments. They then can pull up to the drive-through awning and someone will meet them outside and get them signed in and bring their food to their vehicle. This is until further notice. The church partners with the NWA Food Bank and Rural Compassion to receive food to be given away, including canned goods, fresh vegetables, bread, milk and dairy products, eggs and meats. Other items such as toilet paper, shampoo, cleaning products and baby supplies are also available as supplies last.

Bella Vista Area Radio Club

The Bella Vista Area Radio Club has begun holding online meetings while in-person monthly meetings are temporarily suspended. Anyone interested in amateur radio should "tune in" to the club's YouTube Live webcasts at 7 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month. Links to the YouTube Channel and the club's Facebook Group are at www.BellaVistaRadioClub.org. License exams have also been temporarily suspended.
