Lady Panthers squeak by Lady Lions

With three minutes left, Gravette found itself trailing by one. With one minute and 30 seconds left, a basket by Shylee Morrison moved the Lady Lions ahead by two. The first half ended with Gravette leading Siloam Springs, 38-34.

The Lady Panthers held Gravette scoreless in the first 90 seconds of the third quarter, affording Siloam the chance to hit two straight field goals and tie the game at 38.

A breakaway jumper by Morrison put Gravette back on top, but not for long. On the next play, the Lady Panthers tied the score at 40 all. From that point, the lead went back and forth until the one minute mark, when the Lady Lions began to pull ahead once more. By the end of the third quarter, the Lady Lions held a slim two-point lead over the Lady Panthers.

As was the case in the second and third quarters, the lead went back and forth, with the Lady Lions leading by two, then a pair of field goals giving the Lady Panthers the lead. With 2:28 left to play, Gravette's shooting suddenly went cold, allowing the Lady Panthers the chance to amass 12 straight points and take the win, 71-59, over the Gravette Lady Lions.

Leading the way for the Lady Lions was senior Shylee Morrison, who had 24 points. Two other Lady Lions, Lizzy Ellis with 12 and Reese Hamilton with 10, were the only other Gravette players in double figures. Other Lady Lions scoring points for the night included Rachel Deihl with six, Tylor Neustel with three, Kaylan Chilton and Dalacie Wishon, each with two.

Four players were in double figures for the Siloam Springs Lady Panthers. Brooke Smith led the way with 22, followed by Brooke Ross with 15, Mimo Jacklik with 11, and Sydney Moorman with 10. Other Lady Panthers contributing to the scoring effort included Reina Tieful with seven and Mia Hevener with six.
